This is how I bring a little bit of Brooklyn to Austin

What's it worth to you? I guess that depends on who you ask......

In a very typical "Dyana" move, ...... anyone that knows me, knows that there's nothing I like more than a challenge. So when I was sent a jar of Innarah Veno Defense Treatment Creme Innarah VenoDefense Treatment Creme  to review, I spoke with the company rep. I told her my usual terms were that I try it for 2-3 weeks, and then I would compare the before and after pictures, and write my review. She replied, "oh there's no need to wait, it works immediately". I thought (to myself) " Listen lady, it's not the first time I've heard that. but sure it does, let's put it to the test." As I said, I love a challenge. Here's is the first law of the universe:  Everyone thinks their baby is the cutest, and every skincare brand thinks that they have discovered and bottled the fountain of youth. Here's the second law of the Universe: - a man will buy any product under the sun, that will promise him that he will keep his

MY 15 MINS ........... (now, hit the snooze button and gimme 15 more)

My 15 minutes of Fame came wrapped in a package of Elder Supermodel and cheesy runway quotes by yours truly Back in the old days....before you could get your makeup/ makeover advice from YouTube, and Instagram, there were shows like Queer Eye for the Straight Guy, and Style Interventions, and a network show called CoverShot. This was more of the "New Year/ New Me, Momma needs a Makeover" variety. The premise goes a little something like this; Girl gets Guy, Guy marries girl, they have 3.5 kids and settle into suburbia, Guy gets Mistress, Girl divorces Guy and finds herself on her own, having to navigate the world dating and the new job market, Girl gets a Makeover, out of her sweat pants and into a pencil skirt, a Dolce & Gabanna bustier and several hours in hair and makeup and the resulting transformation is splashed across Old Broadway as she gets a segment on the show and a billboard in Times Square! The results look a little something like this: many more

Let There be (selfie) Light - and there was !!!!

I was commissioned by Xberts.com to review the ASNAP selfie ring light, unfortunately a glitch in their website prevented me from uploading my review, so(#timewaster) perhaps with any luck, they'll see my review here. So without further adieu, I give you my review of the  ASNAP FILL-IN LIGHT FOR SMARTPHONES PROS  compact and lightweight design makes it easy to toss into a purse or pocket and take it with you.  heavy-duty plastic feels sturdy and not flimsy or fragile despite its weight. clips onto any smartphone or tablet easily even with a case on and doesnt feel like it will fall off.                 AND CONS The packaging leaves a little something to be desired, but as I can see from the other reviews of the product,  I must have gotten an older model because the green ones look like theyve been upgraded  Unless you can read Japanese the instructions are useless The Unboxing - My device arrived in a small brown box lined with bubble wrap so it w

The probability of love at first sight....

or how a shaving soap changed the   my world....                   I may have a problem balancing the girlie girl in me, with the cynical New Yorker? I don't usually think of myself as a hopeless romantic, but lately I equate everything to relationships, even blogging about products. As much as I'd like to be that wham bam thank you ma'am reviewer... you know, the one that gets the product and says "OK you'll have final copy in 3 days", I just can't. I need to fall in love with it, even if only for the moment, and for that I need to get to know you better .  Seriously, can you really get to know a anything in such a short time, enough to feel confident telling all your friends about it ?  Because that's what you are, you're my friends.  And friends can smell BS a mile away.  So I'm not going to candy coat it, if I love it, I'll scream it from the rooftops, and if I don't....well.  I'm the chick that is go

Do your influencers still have an influence on their audience? When does size matter?

Sometimes ...Bigger is Not Always Better !

While reading this article, today on Tap Influence -"WTF is influencer marketing?", I was surprised to find that studies show, that it's not necessarily about how big your numbers are any longer, in the world of influencer marketing. It's about how many people you can reach and engage with to get your message heard. After all, isn't that the reason brands wanted influencers instead of ad agencies? We make getting your message out more personal, like having a conversation with a trusted friend. You want someone the people can relate to, someone "just like them", not some big corporation talking at them, but someone on their level talking to them instead. Well, the same holds true now, for those big name influencers who have reached "celebrity" status (I'm not naming names) you cutie-pies know who I'm talking about, (LOL) but they no longer speak for the "Everyman" when they're making 7.4 million per year in revenue! They

The Swiss Army Knife of Lipsticks

As a makeup artist, I've been doing this trick for years...combining two colors to compliment each other, or to make a totally new color. Covergirl has brought this to the masses with their new product Blast Flipstick. One shade is matte, one shade is shimmer, you can mix/ match or combine. The lipstick goes on smooth and silky and lasts for hours. The best part is I only need one tube in my tiny purse when I go out at night. Very cool!    *DISCLAIMER - This was not a paid testimonial, all products were furnished free of charge for this review
