How to Turn Bath time from Humdrum to Hammam!

I am very big on pampering myself with bath products. It seems like no matter how stressful the day, there is nothing like a hot bath to literally wash all my troubles right down the drain. Nothing could be closer to the truth than when taking a Hammam. For those of you that have never heard the term before, a "Hammam" is a Moroccan cleansing ritual, which in America translates to a very hot bath to really relax you and open up your pores. It's also the name of the gift set that was given to me to review by Zakia of Morocco.

The benefits of visiting a hammam, sauna or steam room.

Physical and emotional detox. Reduce stress, anxiety and allow deep relaxation.
Beautifying the body and face. Exfoliate dead skin from your body, unclog pores while eliminating toxins from the skin and
Fight acne. Regulate skin oil secretions to prevent acne and help heal scars and reduce redness.
Skin nourishing and rehydration. Provides essential vitamins and minerals.
Anti-aging. Allow your inner organs to breathe. Helps toning, firming the skin while improving elasticity.
Decrease muscle tension. It sooth muscle pain and rheumatism.
Better sleep. Helps rejuvenate your body while sleeping.
Boost the immune system. Activate the blood circulation.
Body and mind connection. Have more energy and feel more balance.
Feel beautiful. Feeling fresh and revitalized.

The Moroccan Hammam treatment is a body and soul relaxation journey that can have multiple variants, but will always consist of a black soap cleansing, skin exfoliation with a kessa mitt, mineralized rhassoul clay mask and complete rehydration of the skin with argon oil.

This ritual bath session left my body and my hair (yes, you can use the clay mask for your hair to detoxify and remove product buildup!) feeling soft and hydrated, like nothing I've ever experienced.
The kit includes: 100% pure, organic Argan Oil,(not shown) Moroccan Black Soap, Atlas Mountain Lava Clay Face and Body Mask and Moroccan Kessa Exfoliating Glove.

One lucky reader, will take home the entire set!

The long awaited post about THE MAKEUP SHOW !

I know, I know,..... it's been forever since my last post, and I could make excuses and say " a cross country move, a breakup, another move, (not necessarily in that order)...sometimes life gets in the way"..... but truth be told, I got sooooo much loot at the makeup show that I wanted to be able to actually use it, and not just on myself, but on my clients, so that when I spoke to you about it, I'd actually have something to say. So without further adieu, I give you ..... The Makeup Show LA Bloggger Bag There was so much in this "goodie bag" that I almost don't know where to start.  I have a few favorites that I could go on and on about so I'll leave those for last. I will say this, there are some things that I selfishly will keep in my own makeup bag that my pro-kit will never know about!!! ***to purchase all these products, just click on the underlined links below*** First up Model in a Bottle, @ModelinaBottle One of my friend Step...

The Real (bend and) Scoop on Sticky Bras

When I mention the term "Strapless Sticky Bra", what visual comes to mind? Is it two beige yarmulkes stuck to your boobs? Or for those of you above a B cup is it sad Mickey Mouse ears, or a subsequent collapse of support?  When I bought the Yale Stuart Strapless sticky bra to review, I already had a preconceived notion in my head that it wouldn’t work. I have natural 34C boobs. I emphasize "natural" because I don’t have a gravity defying boob job, like most of the models advertising this type of product. My boobs are still perky for someone my age, one of the advantages of not having a child and breast-feeding, but regardless I’m not brave enough to go "commando" in a strappy sundress. So when I tell you I put this baby to the test, believe me! I wore this under my spaghetti strap dress and went out dancing in the Florida heat and humidity. Surprisingly, it passed the boogie down test with minimal jiggle and no slippage. After about three hours of shaki...

This is how I bring a little bit of Brooklyn to Austin

This is how I bring a little bit of my hometown, Brooklyn, to my new home in Austin. I've partnered with PHOTOWALL and picked out a beautiful 40x60 Canvas Print of the Brooklyn Bridge. I picked out my design and 3 days later my print arrived! The box contained everything I needed to assemble the canvas print: canvas cloth, frame sections, corner plates with screws and instructions. After I laid the images face down on the floor, all I needed to do was press the pre-taped wooden frame sections onto the  sides of the canvas. Once the frame sections are in place, you have to fold the wooden pieces in towards one another, place the metal corner plates in corners and inster all the screws and tighten them. The whole process took about an hour and a half from start to finish. and this is the finished product What do you think?  Photowall's website is amazing! Seriously, the longest part of this was making my decision of which print to get because I  wanted it all! They have ev...
