Whole Lotta Rosy - L'Oreal Paris Age Perfect Rosy Tone Mask and Moisturizer review.

I have used L'Oreal Paris products before, so I was
excited when I received samples of the Age Perfect Rosy Tone Mask and Moisturizer to review.

While I don't exactly identify (yet) to Helen Mirren, I am supposedly in the "mature skin" range so I decided to give it a go...

Who's it for?

It's marketed for mature skin, and is supposed to give it that "healthy, rosy, youthful glow".
According to L'Oreal, the Imperial Peonny Extract and LHA's in the mask, work to slough away the dead skin cells and reveal a renewed skin surface. While the day cream has a (very) pink tint to it, which add to the "glow" to give you that just scrubbed look.

How do you use it?

After washing your face, apply the mask in circular motion to gently exfoliate and leave on for 5 mins, then rinse off and apply the moisturizer.

Does it work?

I wanted to like this, but to be honest I was very disappointed.
The mask was slightly irritating to my skin. I usually am not sensitive to fruit acids, but I could barely last the full 5 minutes. As if the burning sensation wasn't enough to get me to rinse, the smell definitely was.

As a rule, I do not like scented products on my face, but this went to the extreme - I was so bothered by it that I had to wash my face twice more with a different product just to stop from smelling it.

The day cream, although it felt silky smooth, and not as heavy as I thought it would, left my face a little too "rosy" for my liking and made me look as if I just had a chemical peel.
Not exactly what I was hoping for.

Sorry, L'Oreal, for me this was not a hit, but a big
miss !

Time for Me

I’ve been purchasing makeup tools for my personal use lately, my kit is stocked so now it’s time to take care of me! Being that I’m getting older and spend about 80 percent of my life with my face in my phone, I thought a good magnifying mirror was the way to go.  My latest purchase was a Trifold Table Makeup Mirror  here’s why; it’s got 4 different magnifications 10x/3x/2x/1x, (so I can see EVERYTHING even without my glasses on, it folds up for easy travel, and rotates 180 degrees, and has 21 LED lights powered by a usb cord which is included or 4 AA batteries (for on the go makeup).  While I like the ability to see all my flaws in different magnifications, (lol) the one drawback for me were the LED lights which I didn’t feel put out enough to actually illuminate the face and I noticed that I kept turning the mirror towards the window for a natural light source. All in all , I like the mirror and think it’s a great value for the price, I just wish the ...

The long awaited post about THE MAKEUP SHOW !

I know, I know,..... it's been forever since my last post, and I could make excuses and say " a cross country move, a breakup, another move, (not necessarily in that order)...sometimes life gets in the way"..... but truth be told, I got sooooo much loot at the makeup show that I wanted to be able to actually use it, and not just on myself, but on my clients, so that when I spoke to you about it, I'd actually have something to say. Annabella Sciorra & Gypsy Sparkle

One of the perks of doing hair and makeup for Hollywood Royalty, is the ability to bring people together who's paths might otherwise never have crossed.....  Such is the case with Annabella Sciorra (@ASciorra) and my sister's company, Gypsy Sparkle (@GypsySparkle).  As many of you know I am working with the mega-star on a new feature film called "The Maid's Room", where I am the Dept. Head of Makeup & Hair. Annabella was  picked as this years Mermaid Queen at the 30th Anniversary Mermaid Parade, in Coney Island ! As a Brooklyn native, I grew up loving this parade & everything Coney! For those of you that don't know about the parade, here's a little background.   click here for info about The Coney Island Mermaid Parade The Mermaid Parade celebrates the sand, the sea, the salt air and the beginning of summer, as well as the history and mythology of Coney Island, Coney Island pride, and artistic self-expression.
