Sometimes… You can teach an old dog new tricks!

  My best friend is 10 years old, she has four legs, and her name is Dita Von Dog.                              I recently embarked on an extended road trip with my dog. (OK, four road trips back to back, but that’s another story, for another blog.)
 Two old dogs hitting the open road can get pretty monotonous, so when I have a chance to change it up, I take it. 
I had read about these snuffle mats, and how it could be a game for dogs of any age, so I decided to buy one on Amazon. For those of you who’ve never heard them; a snuffle mat is a way of feeding your dog that uses their innate sense of foraging for food, while at the same time slowing down their ability to inhale an entire bowl the second it hits the floor.a picture of two dogs, Dita VonDog and Fez using their snuffle mat from Pet Star Pro




With the addition of a new puppy in the family this presents an even greater challenge. My older dog tends to graze, she eats a little bit of food and then comes back to the bowl whenever she feels hungry again. That is until the five-month-old puppy comes around, and then all bets are off and it’s a race to the finish! I’ll admit I was skeptical at first. Would Dita give me the side-eye and demand her bowl back? Would the puppy think it was a new toy and flip it over spilling the kibble all over my kitchen floor? I was about to find out.
I sprinkled the kibble into the rug (according to the directions) as if I was sprinkling birdseed into the grass, and I waited. Then the strangest thing happened; They both ate, side-by-side, slowly foraging for each bite, without growling at each other, or giving me dirty looks!
It worked, and I was blown away. For the first time they ate without choking food down, without fighting, and they actually finished all their food, and got some mental stimulation, as an added bonus!

This is how I bring a little bit of Brooklyn to Austin

This is how I bring a little bit of my hometown, Brooklyn, to my new home in Austin. I've partnered with PHOTOWALL and picked out a beautiful 40x60 Canvas Print of the Brooklyn Bridge. I picked out my design and 3 days later my print arrived! The box contained everything I needed to assemble the canvas print: canvas cloth, frame sections, corner plates with screws and instructions. After I laid the images face down on the floor, all I needed to do was press the pre-taped wooden frame sections onto the  sides of the canvas. Once the frame sections are in place, you have to fold the wooden pieces in towards one another, place the metal corner plates in corners and inster all the screws and tighten them. The whole process took about an hour and a half from start to finish. and this is the finished product What do you think?  Photowall's website is amazing! The Real (bend and) Scoop on Sticky Bras

When I mention the term "Strapless Sticky Bra", what visual comes to mind? Is it two beige yarmulkes stuck to your boobs? Or for those of you above a B cup is it sad Mickey Mouse ears, or a subsequent collapse of support?  When I bought the Yale Stuart Strapless sticky bra to review, I already had a preconceived notion in my head that it wouldn’t work. I have natural 34C boobs. I emphasize "natural" because I don’t have a gravity defying boob job, like most of the models advertising this type of product. My boobs are still perky for someone my age, one of the advantages of not having a child and breast-feeding, but regardless I’m not brave enough to go "commando" in a strappy sundress. So when I tell you I put this baby to the test, believe me! I wore this under my spaghetti strap dress and went out dancing in the Florida heat and humidity.
